Prisoners around the country are organizing a national prisoner strike, to begin on August 21 and going through September 9. The strikers are demanding an end to prison slavery in addition to other demands (see below for more details on specific demands).
To support the strikers inside, we are organizing this march downtown Lansing to
1. draw attention to the national demands of the prisoners
2. demand no retaliation against participating prisoners in Michigan
We are meeting at Durant Park at 3:00pm on Thursday, August 23. We will be doing a short march (less than a mile) and then a rally.
***Please bring noise makers, banners, flags, balloons, and other celebratory props.***
